Richmond Hotel Nagoya Shinkansenguchi

The location made getting around easy, with Nagoya station just across the road and paid parking a block or two behind the hotel. The cheapest overnight lot we found was 600Yen. We were close to the tracks but our room didn't face them, and we never heard any train noise. There’s no hotel parking on site. The room wasn’t especially big, but the bed was cosy, the aircon worked properly, and the bathroom had strong hot water. Housekeeping was thorough, even the ceiling light was clean when I checked. We slept well every night. We could also check washer availability on the room TV, which was handy. There were only 3 washers with dryers, if I remember right, and each cycle cost 600Yen. Not too pricey, though not the cheapest we used. Breakfast was one of the things we looked forward to each morning. We like Japanese-style breakfasts, and the buffet had plenty to choose from, good quality food, and a pleasant setting. The lobby also had a nice range of self-service amenities. We tried some and thought they were good. Every staff member we met was friendly. We stayed at several hotels from different brands during our Japan trip, and my wife picked Richmond as one of her clear favorites. I agree. Nothing major made me want to take off points. She even said, “Next time, try to book Richmond first, okay?” Aye aye, madame!
