Super Hotel Mitazono Sendai Airport

We picked this hotel because it was near the airport for our departure, and wished we’d discovered Super Hotels earlier. It felt like they were really trying their best to make the stay good, and it was great value. The train station for the airport line was an easy walk away, and the airport was only four minutes by train. There’s a large mall one stop away, plus grocery stores, Family Mart, Daiso, and a few restaurants within a short walk. The breakfast was the best quality among similar hotels we stayed in, and we loved the evening drinks. Laundry was self-service, efficient, and inexpensive. The room was small, but would’ve been perfectly comfortable if I were traveling alone. I liked having a top sheet on the bed, and the choice of different pillows was a nice touch. I don’t get hotels that discourage using the aircon much but only offer a hot duvet. The onsen was tiny but relaxing. I didn’t read the mineral chart posted there, but my skin felt great after a short soak.

There’s basically just a bed and restroom in the room. It’s a cozy place, though.

It’s a great spot for getting around. Sendai Airport is 10 minutes away by train, and Sendai Station is a direct 20-minute ride. Hotels near Sendai Station can be full and pricey during events, so this place is a handy distance away with steady prices. There’s plenty of free parking and a convenience store nearby, though not many other places to eat. The free welcome bar has several teas, including the increasingly popular original “Good Sleep Herbal Tea.” You also get a free breakfast buffet with ingredients from Miyagi Prefecture, natural hot springs, and the Super Hotel.
