Hotel Akari Numazu Inter - Leisure Hotel

The room, bath, and washroom are all spacious, and you can pick your shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The service feels more extensive than at other love hotels in Numazu. A Saturday night in a Type C room costs 12,600 yen and includes breakfast, dinner, and one drink, which seems like a good deal. I was unsure about eating at a love hotel, but the food has been delicious every time so far. No complaints at this point. It’s popular, though, so booking by phone is best. Not available on Saturdays.

The building feels pretty old, and there are obvious black mold spots on the sink. I could also hear a lot from outside the room, including a vacuum cleaner and people walking around. The worst part was finding a piece of steel wool in my mouth while eating. Even if the meal was free, I don’t understand how that could have ended up in the food.

I came across Hotel Akari while heading back to Osaka from Ibaraki Prefecture, and it was a great place to unwind after a long day on the road. Rooms start at 7200 yen, which felt like very good value, and I was pleased by the thoughtful details. You can check in from 6am. There’s a free welcome drink and breakfast, and five drinks for 500 yen. The service was a nice surprise too. I’ll definitely stay at Hotel Akari again when I’m in Numazu City. I want to come back!

About an hour after we got into the room, a cockroach showed up near the TV. I covered it on instinct with the lid from the meal we’d ordered, then left it like that all night. We’d gone out as a couple for the first time in a while and were a bit surprised to find the hotel in a love hotel district. Still, the hotel itself allows children up to 18, and the lobby was nicely designed. The room was clean and the service was excellent, so I think it could work for family trips too.
