The rooms are set up for busy business travelers, so they're not spacious, but they have the necessary facilities and a hot bath to relax in. For a sightseeing trip, especially with an older person, the easy transport connections make this a good choice. The Keihan train for Kyoto is close, and the subway is two stops from the large Umeda interchange. Airport transfers need a bit of planning, but should be manageable if you sort them out. If shopping isn't your main focus, I think this place works really well for seeing the sights.

Temmabashi Station is a two-minute walk away, and the city mall takes about four minutes on foot. There's plenty of food nearby, and the hotel is close to everything. The staff are amazing, and it's great value. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Osaka Castle is right next to the hotel. The room is small, but for the price it's very good. Staff handled my luggage problem with the airline smoothly. It was a Chinese airline, not JAL, and there was a language barrier at one point, but they still deserve 6 out of 5 for helping me.

The rooms are VERY small for somewhere described as "luxury." During autumn and winter, you can't set the room temperature yourself. They turn the heat up for the whole hotel, and it gets stupidly warm at night.

We knew the rooms would be small, and since we only used them to rest, it wasn't a problem. They also had lots of useful features. We only managed one visit to the onsen because our schedule was tight, but it was an interesting experience. Check-in went smoothly, the staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the location had great connections. A very pleasant stay.
