Dotonbori Room

At night, the room with the window can get noisy because a bike rides around making a lot of sound. They also won’t hold your bags after checkout, so you’ll need to find luggage storage if you have a late flight. The location is excellent, near both Namba and Nippombashi stations. Day tour pickup is right beside the apartment, and 7-Eleven is just around the corner.

Our family of five had lots of space in this new, clean, efficient apartment. It was conveniently located and came with linens and a washing machine. There’s no staffed reception, and you need several codes to get in. There’s also no luggage room.

The spacious room and large table made for a comfortable stay. We’d originally booked for eight family members, then changed it to six. Each person could use a queen bed, which worked very well. The room has one bathroom with a bath, a separate shower room, two sinks side by side, and one toilet. I’d worried that setup might be inconvenient, but it wasn’t as much of a problem as I expected. The location was handy for walking. Nipponbashi Station is close, and Nankai Namba Station isn’t far either. Since check-in and checkout are remote, we couldn’t leave our luggage beforehand. There were plenty of lockers at Nipponbashi Station, though, so we stored our bags there, went about our day, and entered the room at the scheduled check-in time. For hot water, press the wall button marked “Hot Spring.” A yellow light comes on, and an announcement in Japanese tells you the set temperature. The light eventually turns off and another announcement plays, so turn it off beforehand if you don’t want to be startled at night.

A very good, clean, new apartment close to Shinsaibashi. I recommend it!
