Randor Hotel Namba Osaka Suites

The staff were easily the best part, absolutely top-notch. We also appreciated having a kitchenette, especially with a great 24-hour grocery store nearby, and Shinsekai close for meals out. The rooms are roomy and well equipped. It's far enough from the main bustle to sleep, but still an easy walk back from Dotonbori after the trains stop. Service, location, quality, and value all come together really well.

There are eateries all around, plus 7-11 and Lawsons nearby. Tsutenkaku tower and the surrounding streets are about a five-minute walk, and Dotonbori is around 15 minutes away on foot. The hotel is right next to the train station, too. Our room was big, clean, and comfortable, with a good-sized bath and shower room, comfy beds, basic kitchen facilities, and an in-room washing machine. Great with kids, and great without them. 100% recommend.

The room is roomy and fairly modern, more like a service apartment, and it can be good value if you catch a sale. Namba is walkable, and ebisucho Station is right by the exit. Some staff were helpful, especially the ones who spoke English well. The area felt pretty seedy, with porn shops and maid cafés around. We didn't get much out of the view, either. The self-service setup was a hassle for check-in and for getting help. We had to request towel replacements ourselves, and two staff members didn't follow through. I missed a shower that day. Eventually someone with better English told me to bring the towels downstairs, then went to the back room and got staff to hand some over for me to take up. The room wasn't really clean, with dirty spots and a smell. The jacuzzi water was so dirty that the shower seemed like the better choice. Watch out for extra charges: even 30 minutes late checking out costs more, and they may charge if sheets or the futon don't have coverings. There was no help after 10 pm. The online listing makes this place look different from what it is.

We were on the 10th floor. The apartment had a lovely outdoor bath, plus a big living room and a European-style kitchen and laundry area with a washer and dryer. The king-size bed was large and beautiful, in a separate room.
