I want to complain about how the membership discount was handled. At check-in they asked if I wanted a club card and said joining would get me a discount on my stay. I'd already paid by card, but they said they'd refund the discount amount, so I agreed. After checkout they charged my card again for the full stay, then sent a refund that included both the new charge and the discount they owed me. It stayed pending for a week, leaving me with 700euro less in my account during my trip for that whole week. Nobody told me this would happen, and being charged twice before the money is returned is an awful system. The hotel itself is good, and the location is amazing, but the Japanese breakfast is a bit limited. Umeda Nakatsu 2 has more modern accommodation than 1. Sadly, the rooms at the back get no sunlight.

I chose it for the location and price, and the machine made check-in and checkout fairly simple. I had a single room for a couple of nights. The area is lovely, with a convenience store next door, a metro station close by, and lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast changes daily, and they provide a container if you'd rather take it back to your room. The room had most of what I needed, though a few amenities were missing.

The beds were the hardest I've ever slept on, honestly. I can imagine the carpeted floor had more give, so if you have a bad back, maybe think twice. Trains also run nearby and can be heard for much of the night. That didn't bother us since we live beside tracks at home. Otherwise, it's a nice budget hotel, easy enough to find from the train station. Check-in was super easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served downstairs in the morning. We didn't try it, but it smelled amazing. The room was small, as you'd expect in a budget business hotel, but very clean, with luggage storage under the bed. There aren't many outlets, so plan around that.

Outstanding location, breakfast, service, and cleanliness. You couldn't ask for more. Sure, the rooms are a bit small, but you don't come to Osaka to spend all day in your room. 💚🙏

The compact room had all the amenities I needed and was comfortable. I especially liked the shower, with its strong pressure and easy temperature control. The free breakfast from 6 to 9 am had a satisfying range of Japanese and Western choices, and the clean, organized dining area made for a pleasant start to the day. The front desk service stood out. A kind, understanding woman helped move my booking from the Toyoko INN branch near the airport to Toyoko INN Umeda Nakatsu 1, a more central spot that made it easier to get around and make the most of my Osaka trip. She was accommodating and even let me sleep an extra hour after my long journey. Checkout was at 10 am, and it went smoothly, with courteous staff making sure everything was in order. Overall, it was a convenient and comfortable base, with thoughtful amenities and excellent service. I'd recommend Toyoko INN Umeda Nakatsu 1 as a budget-friendly option for business or leisure travelers.
