I didn’t stay here, but it’s a beautiful area.

With the whole building to yourselves, it’s a great and very affordable holiday stay for families with energetic kids. You can make noise without worrying about other guests, and the deer are a big hit. As of February 2026 there are two, both tame, and the kids loved getting licked (^g^). We lit handheld fireworks at night, warmed ourselves by the kotatsu, then fell asleep under a beautiful starry sky. One catch: stink bugs get in through the cracks even in winter. If bugs bother you, this place may not suit you, but nature lovers should enjoy it. The baths are small and the water temperature is hard to adjust, so soaking at a good nearby hot spring is a better bet.
I think I visited about two years ago. The staff were so friendly that the whole experience felt pleasant. The room was old, but clean and well looked after, so I was comfortable. I’d come more often if it weren’t so far from home. Still, I’ll definitely visit again when I get the chance.
We came as a family, spent time at Hirano Pool, and visited a nearby hot spring. The accommodation is quiet and reasonably priced, with a home-style kitchen that helps keep costs down if you cook. There’s only a tennis court on site. The parking is a little distance away, though you can pull up in front of the building to unload and load. Some of the facilities are old, but the restrooms and bedding are clean, so it wasn’t an issue. The kids loved seeing the rhinoceros beetles and deer nearby. It’s a lovely budget place to relax with young children, and I highly recommend it. If this was helpful, please give it a like. Thanks.
Registration is at the museum farther along, so keep that in mind.
