There was plenty of room for a family of ten, and they had most of the things we needed. The beds were soft and comfortable to sleep in. One thing that would help is reducing the noise from the second-floor flooring, since we could hear nearly every step from the bedroom below. Outdoor slippers would be useful too. Ours were sandy or wet, and we wanted a clean pair to change into.

Michiko was so accommodating and went out of her way to make the stay enjoyable. The location was amazing, and after checking ourselves in that afternoon, we got to see a beautiful sunset. It was our first stay at marine house, and it exceeded our expectations. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were able to bring our dog. We had such a good time and hope to return to Shimoda.

The sea view from the room was fantastic, and the place was clean with a well-equipped kitchen. I picked this hotel for its location near the beach. A lot of ants forced us to stop our terrace barbecue, but the roomy living area gave us space to relax, so it didn't spoil the stay.

The sea was right in front of us, and we could watch the Black Ships pass through Shimoda Port. Since the house is among ordinary homes, guests should keep considerate hours and not let pets roam off-leash. Inside, though, it has resort-style furnishings and a lovely feel, despite the plain house exterior. We were three people with our miniature dachshund, and the place was almost comically spacious. We liked sleeping in different bedrooms and alternating bathrooms. There are three bedrooms and bathrooms on both floors, so it can suit a bigger group, and everything was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in August 2022.
