JR Clement Inn Takamatsu

The staff really stood out, so welcoming, kind, and helpful. The location is great, and the rooms are very clean. They’re a standard size and price for Shikoku, but I got more than at other places I’ve stayed: several pillows and towels, plus good quality soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

The service made a big difference. We’d left a suitcase at JR Clement Inn Takamatsu while traveling around Shikoku, and when we returned, the staff welcomed us and helped without hesitation. There was a booking issue at check-in, but reception sorted it out quickly and professionally. They gave us a spacious twin room with a lovely view over the Seto Inland Sea and Takamatsu Castle Park. We could communicate easily and without stress because the staff spoke very good English. The beds were comfortable, the room layout was well thought out, and there were extra pillows on each floor. The inn is right in front of Takamatsu Station, which made it easy to get around the city. We checked in earlier today, and this is the 13th hotel on our journey. A very satisfying stay, especially if you value helpful service and easy communication. Highly recommended.

My mum loved the bath on the top floor, and the view was nice too. We came for her birthday and were really thankful for the stay. The room was clean, the staff were lovely, and the location couldn’t be better. We had a great time and would definitely come back!

A staff member at JR Hotel was fortunately very helpful, escorting us and assisting with our luggage. Still, the whole check-in took about 45 minutes. We had to park at JR Hotel, make several trips between the car park and JR Inn, and then pay an extra parking fee. The fee was higher than nearby options, which felt unreasonable given the lack of help or coordination between the two properties. When we arrived at JR Inn, there were no parking instructions. I went ahead and found that reception was on the second floor. The staff at JR Inn weren’t helpful and simply told us to park at JR Hotel. When I asked if we could unload our luggage first, they said no, so we had to carry our bags from the car park to check in and then go back for the car. The price difference between JR Hotel and JR Inn was similar, but the experience felt like the difference between a four-star hotel and a motel. It was disappointing. JR Inn should at least give guests parking guidance and help when they arrive. I won’t stay there again.
