The room was a little dated, but still cozy and had what I needed for a short stay. There’s a restaurant beside the hotel serving mostly Japanese breakfast, and a Family Mart close by. The hotel has parking, and at the time of writing the nightly price was slightly below other places nearby. It’s in the heart of Takayama, close to the morning market and lots of other things to do around town.

This is a cozy budget apartment with comfortable rooms and a great bathroom. Staff were helpful and great. There’s plenty to see within a 20-minute walk, so it works well as a base for exploring Takayama. If you can, ask for the sixth floor for the views.

The small onsen is separated by gender, and I enjoyed having my only onsen experience there. The room was clean and well kept, with comfortable beds, which was all I needed for a short Takayama stay. It’s a lovely, inexpensive hotel, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Our room had a nice mountain view, and the restaurant downstairs served good food. It’s good value, with many places of interest just a short walk away. The train and bus station are a little distance off, but still not too far.

The staff in the lobby were helpful, and there’s a very nice restaurant downstairs. Our room was very clean, but despite being non-smoking, it smelled because it was on a smoking floor.
