The shared lounge, dining room, and kitchen made it easy to have tea and chat with other travelers, and the whole place had a friendly community feel. I stayed in a triple room with my kids, with our own bath, towels, and bedding provided. The staff were kind and helpful, and I felt safe and welcome. It’s also an easy walk to the sights and close to the bus and train station.

The rooms are small, which helps keep the price down, and the lounge brings in travelers from all over. I ended up talking with around 10 other guests and made three friends. People were friendly, and it was easy to chat and swap recommendations. The staff and fellow hostel guests are what make this place, and the comfortable lounge and dining areas give everyone room to eat and hang out.

The kitchen is roomy and well equipped, and there are even a couple of washers and dryers. The staff were the highlight for me, so lovely and genuinely helpful with whatever I needed, from making a reservation to filling out the takkyubin forms. The hostel was comfortable and clean, and I was glad to stay here while exploring the Takayama area.

The cozy kitchen and common areas made it fun to talk with other guests, and I came away with lots of new friends. The front desk staff were really helpful, too, and helped me plan a few side trips. The hostel was top tier, and it was so close to the festival that was happening during my stay.

I’ve stayed here twice. It’s good value in a great location, and the rooms are small but clean and practical.
