Nick was great to talk with and recommended some good places to eat. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and all the main sights are a 10-30 minute walk away. The train and bus stations are very close, too. The common room is cozy, the beds are comfortable, and umbrellas are available for free. Laundry costs 500 yen. I felt a bit claustrophobic one night in the capsule-style bed, but that’s just me.

The staff were very friendly, and both the rooms and common area were clean and pleasant. The kitchen was well equipped. I had a big, comfortable Japanese-style room in a great location near the train station and old town. I’d stay here again if I return to Takayama.

My partner and I had a pleasant stay in a double deluxe room. The bed was comfortable and there was enough space, though I did miss having a bidet in the bathroom. The common areas were pleasant and always clean, and the kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. I loved the detailed recommendations for Takayama and the surrounding area, as well as the origami paper and instructions.

The location was really nice, with plenty of restaurants nearby, the train station close, and both Morning Markets about a 15-minute walk away. There’s paid parking next door. Our Japanese-style room worked for three people with small bags, though the futons felt a bit thin to us. The ensuite bathroom was well equipped. The seating area gets busy in the evening, and the kitchen was nicely equipped. Laundry is available, and the employees were very friendly and helpful.
