It was the best campsite of my trip, with good facilities, a nice onsen, and helpful staff, especially Hiro San. The drive through the mountains is long, but the route is scenic. I’d definitely go again.

My family and I rent a cottage here every year, and I also visit each summer to enjoy the hot springs, cool clear river, tasty spring water, and starry sky. The cottages are very clean and have all the appliances, so we can stay comfortably. The owner and staff are friendly, which makes us feel at ease. For camping, I like the Woody Site best. There are lots of bugs, but it’s cool and private, so I recommend it. You can use the fish tank as a fishing pond, and they’ll prepare whatever you catch so you can grill it. There’s also a Hida beef BBQ, and you don’t need to bring anything. I look forward to relaxing here each year with the baths and the starry sky.
The owners and caretakers were friendly, and there was plenty to enjoy: playing in the river, catching river fish, a great location, and a private hot spring if you picked the right time. Charcoal disposal and cleanup were easy too. We had a wonderful time at this campsite, despite having to take all our trash with us and the obvious abundance of bugs. It was cloudy during our visit, though I heard the sky is usually full of stars. I’ll definitely come again. Thank you.
The river and mountain views made our summer stay feel cool and peaceful. We came as a family with our dog and spent two nights here for our first camping trip at this site. There’s spring water, natural hot springs on the grounds, hot water in the cooking area, and electricity at the pitches, so it has everything we needed. The facilities were very clean, and the staff were kind. We ordered the river fish option and really enjoyed it. With several roadside rest stops and a supermarket nearby, shopping was easy. We’d love to come back, perhaps in autumn or winter.
The forest setting was lovely, with the river in view and a refreshing breeze coming through. The newly opened solo camping area has well-spaced sites and drains well. It isn’t very large, and there’s no hot spring or sauna, but the bath and spring water are available without limits. At times I practically had the place to myself. The staff were so welcoming and ready to help with different situations, which would reassure anyone new to camping. Prices were a little high in the busy season, but with checkout at noon, unlimited access to the bath and spring water, a comfortable site, and attentive service, I thought it was fair. Places this good are hard to find.
