The place has potential, with a quaint look and a spot next to the river, but it wasn’t worth the expense in its current condition. The converted restaurant is being marketed as a guest house, and while the decor looks good in photos, it needs a deep clean, renovation, and insulation before it should be rented out. It was -2C, and the heater didn’t work in the old, uninsulated house. The place was quite dirty in some areas, and the owner was hard to reach. They didn’t respond on check-in day, and after numerous calls we only got through the following afternoon.

Train problems meant we had to rent a car to get here. When we arrived, we were told to get the key from the mailbox, but there was no key inside. We tried repeatedly to contact the owner, without success, and eventually gave up and booked a hotel because we had nowhere to sleep. The outside didn’t look very clean either.

It’s a spacious house with bikes available, though it’s a bit far from the sights. The kitchen is large but could use a proper cleaning.
