The breakfast had plenty to choose from, including eggs, salad, pastries, and cold meats, and it was tasty. The reception lady was really friendly. The room in the new building was great, with a big TV, hairdryer, kettle, and mini desk.
We didn't speak Japanese, but Google Translate helped us find a place quickly after cigarette smoke drove us from our booked accommodation. Dei-San was especially outstanding. When I lost a power adapter, he kindly drove me to KS, the local electronics store, after calling ahead to preorder one. Strongly recommend!
The staff were great, and being able to borrow a bike for free was a real plus. Our room was clean, though small, about average for a hotel room in Japan. We were relieved to have booked connecting rooms. The Altier is only 300 meters from Kii-Tanabe station.
The breakfast buffet was really nice, and they even had a cook making omelets. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the location was good. A wonderful hotel!
We stayed briefly before setting out on the Kumano Kodo, and the hotel worked well for what we needed. It's very handy for the train station.
