The value was a little underwhelming compared with the way the free services are presented, though they really are free. Once you understand how things work, it's a very convenient stay and the location is hard to beat. For me, it was an 8/10. The amenities themselves are top notch. It feels like you could travel with one set of clothes and little else because they provide what you need: free alcohol, soft drinks, tea, skincare, hair products, and hygiene items like toothbrushes, hair brushes, dental floss, and nail clippers. The Onsen is great, especially since it's the only bathing option. The lounge has free ramen, but don't expect restaurant quality. It's enough to get you by. The staff helped me, though only just enough. On my first visit to Japan, after staying at hostels and capsule places in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, I felt both impressed and underwhelmed. I felt silly when I couldn't find the locker key hidden in my wristband or figure out where the capsules were. You can't reach them by the stairs like the rest of the hotel, you need the elevator, and that wasn't obvious or convenient. The clientele probably know the customs and visit often, so first timers might be confused. Check carefully when booking. The photos show a capsule with wood panel walls, a TV, a shelf for phones, a slipper holder, and a secure roll-down door. But the 'superior' capsule I booked had none of those things, just an extra 30cm of ceiling height. Maybe that's great if you're a Viking, but I expected the nicer, slightly smaller capsule, not the bare one with no shelf or TV and fridge panel walls.

I had to catch an early flight, so I stayed for one night and was lucky to spend a fantastic day here. The staff helped me figure things out while still keeping the rules in place. I enjoyed the onsen, lounge, massage chairs, skincare products, food, and drinks. The capsule was comfortable enough for sleeping, though there's no need to spend time in it unless you're ready for bed. Highly recommended if you want to stay near Shinjuku. I'd like the staff to contact me if possible because I'd love to book another stay soon.

The best part for me was how Anshin Oyado handled my big backpack. I left Tokyo for a couple of nights after my stay, and they kept it in a secure room for 1300/night. It was convenient and worth mentioning. I spent three nights here to try a capsule hotel and had a great time. There were lots of amenities, the location was fantastic, and all the staff were extremely polite and helpful. It was cool staying somewhere that catered only to men, which has only been the case at a handful of places I've visited. If you're not running around Tokyo, it's a safe place to properly relax. I'd recommend it. Thanks, guys.

After long days exploring Tokyo, I loved unwinding in the hot baths and massage chairs, then having the free food. I felt refreshed each morning and ready for the next day. The capsules were clean and comfortable too. Amazing place and a great deal.

I ended up going to the property with an unpaid reservation after receiving an email with a QR code and confirmation. They told me there that it hadn't been paid. I offered to pay then or try the booking again, but the next attempt was a waste of time and patience, so they asked for cash. I didn't have enough cash, so I said I'd use Western Union to withdraw some and came back the next morning with another unpaid booking, ready to pay cash. A different staff member, who was called the 'manager', then said they wouldn't accept cash. Pathetic. The website seems designed to draw people in with better prices and long-stay offers that you can't actually book. No card would ever be accepted. I tried other bookings with other cards too, and nothing worked. Staff kept telling me different things. Most of them weren't Japanese and definitely weren't fluent in English, and probably not in Japanese either. I wasted money traveling back and forth and making a Western Union withdrawal for nothing. It's horrible. It seems like they put these offers online just to attract people. If you pay the very high daily prices, apparently they'll accept even your dirty socks as payment. Be aware.
