The room was a decent size, though it smelled a bit because it was a smoking room. Smoke and air freshener were noticeable throughout the hotel, but that wasn’t a major issue. The location is good. My bigger complaint was the front desk: when I got back around 8-9pm, nobody was there. I called out and kept ringing the bell for 15 minutes before a young staff member came stumbling from behind the curtain, clearly having been asleep. That was disappointing, especially since guests have to leave and collect their key every time they come and go.

They clean the room and replace the towels and robes every day. There’s no breakfast, but Chicken Man cafe is right next door and 7-11 is only a minute away on foot. It’s one of Tokyo’s cheaper hotels, not far from Akebonobashi station and about a 20 to 30 minute walk to Shinjuku’s shopping district. The room is a little small, but a reasonable size if you mainly need somewhere comfortable to rest and recharge for the next day.

We stayed one night before heading to Kawaguchiko the next morning. It’s a simple hotel with the basic amenities, close to the subway, just a few stops from Shinjuku. Check-out was really quick.

Our bedding was dirty, and the sink leaked. There’s no wardrobe, and the staff weren’t helpful. Halfway through our stay they replaced the beds, but we weren’t allowed into our rooms.
