Hotel MyStays Asakusa - Bashi

We had a fantastic stay and would come back on future Tokyo trips. The room was a good size, and we could do laundry easily. Staff were friendly and easy to approach. The hotel connects to Lawson, sits right beside the train station, and is in a really good location that isn't busy at all.

We stayed three nights and had a really nice experience. The station is just a one-minute walk away, and the hotel connects to lawson. Our room had enough space to open both of my big suitcases on the floor, plus a full-length mirror and a comfortable bed. They cleaned every day, and the skincare and other amenities were complete, with pajamas included. They let us leave our luggage before check-in, too. The long-haired guy at reception, whose name I forgot to ask, was very friendly and communicative. I'd definitely come back.

The laundry setup was frustrating: machines stayed occupied for a long time, sometimes monopolized by guests, and there was no clear system or timer showing when a cycle would finish. The room was also noisy, with poor soundproofing and loud door sounds whenever it opened or closed, which made it hard to sleep, especially at night. There were other problems with the facilities. The equipment was outdated and poorly maintained, including a faulty faucet that kept leaking and a microwave too weak to heat food properly. Cleanliness fell short as well, and the front desk staff came across as unfriendly and unhelpful. Taken together, the hotel needs substantial improvement in maintenance, service, and facility management.

One member of the reception team made our stay especially memorable. He usually worked mornings, was tall and lean with slightly longer hair, and greeted us warmly with a genuine smile each day. He made time for little, thoughtful conversations, which felt different from the more routine exchanges we had with other staff. He also arranged luggage transfer to Kyoto for my friend and me, handling it so smoothly that the travel was stress-free. I didn't get his name, but I hope management recognizes how much his excellent service meant to us and lets him know. He really made a difference to our lovely stay.
