The neighborhood was the one thing I liked. Inside, it was a completely different story, and when we arrived the light went out. We immediately felt we’d made a huge mistake. The room was dark and depressing, with old, paper-thin walls. We could hear conversations, coughing, and showers next door, so there was no privacy. We later learned the owner's son was on the same floor, in the room beside ours. The cooking smell hit us as soon as we came in, made us feel sick, and lingered throughout the whole place. The bathroom setup was unsuitable for guests. It was shared with the host's family, and there was no sink in the toilet, so washing our hands meant going out into the hallway just outside our room. One morning, after I left the toilet, the owner's son was standing by our door in his underwear, freshly showered. It was deeply awkward and felt uncomfortable and disrespectful. For the price, what we got was grossly overpriced. The room hadn't been as expected from the Booking pictures, and the only so-called amenities were a couple of sad toothbrushes. When I asked for slippers, I got a judgmental stare. We knew checkout was at 10 AM, but the host sent a message as if we might overstay instead of telling us face-to-face. She could have just said it in person, but she hid away, and I would have liked to speak with her. Another morning, before 8 AM, she cleaned the shower and sink area right outside our room, making noise and singing. It woke us up, and the lack of consideration was shocking. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The host was rude, and there wasn’t much to do nearby. There’s no parking, the checkout time wasn’t clear, and the neighboring room had no wall between it and ours. In the morning there was no hot water, and the towels and sheets were dirty.

The place smelled awful, like mold, dust, and body odor, and it hadn’t even been cleaned, despite a 1,000 yen cleaning fee. I couldn’t understand what that charge was for. The description called it clean, well-equipped, and a place with a great view, but the actual conditions were the complete opposite. It felt like a scam, and the photos were nothing like the place. The parking space said to be right outside was only big enough for a bicycle. After being shown to my room, I found people's clothes and personal items stored in boxes, and the room felt lived-in. The staff couldn’t provide any service. I was so fed up that I paid the fee and went to a nice hotel in Shinjuku instead. What a waste of money.
