Shinjuku Nikka Hotel

For a weekend, the location is great and it has everything you need. The sleeping area is co-ed, with a blackout privacy curtain on each bunk, and each one locks with its own code. There’s coin laundry if you need it, plus showers and heated toilets with heated bidets.

The capsule, locker, and facilities were spacious, clean, and well equipped. I got two towels, a toothbrush, and earplugs. There are lots of bathrooms and toilets, stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, and hair dryers. Hotel slippers are provided to help keep the room clean. There’s also a shared refrigerator and tables in front of reception. I felt lucky to find a place with so much for the price, especially in Shinjuku. I stayed for two nights, Dec 11-13, 2025. I arrived in the afternoon, but the receptionist wasn’t there, so I used self check-in. It was a little confusing at first, though it went smoothly in the end. The location is very convenient, and the price isn’t high. It was a pleasant stay.

The shared bathrooms were clean and tidy, with shampoo and body wash. Check-in was quick and easy, and there was very little staff around. The hostel is in a fabulous location, right where you want to be, but there were security cameras practically everywhere, including inside the rooms. The rooms smelled a little, and the beds weren’t as comfortable as I’d hoped. There was AC, but I had to leave the blind open to feel it, which let in the light. With the blind closed, the room felt like a sauna. It was okay for a night or two, but I couldn’t have stayed longer.

Handy spot for transport. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Busta Shinjuku for the highway bus to Kawaguchiko station. The Bus Limousine to Narita airport from Klook is also easy to reach from Shinjuku West exit, with less walking than going via Busta Shinjuku.
