U-Hotel Takadanobaba

It’s cheap and conveniently close to Takadanobaba station, but I wouldn’t recommend it if cleanliness matters to you. When we checked in at 3 pm, a staff member came over and asked us to change our pillowcases as we walked in. There were stains on the floor and hair on the bed, floor, and towels.

Getting three beds together left enough room to pack our bags, though the room was small. We booked a ground floor room with its own entrance. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was modern and clean. It’s in a great spot near JR Takadanobaba, and tablet self check-in was easy. I can recommend it.

We had to find supplies ourselves, like trash bags and paper towels. When the paper towels ran out, we had to call, and they wouldn’t bring more until the next day. The staff didn’t come to clean during our stay, except once after a guest complained about the air conditioning. They asked if we wanted cleaning, and we only asked them to empty the room’s trash can. When we got back, they’d put clean trash bags on top of our luggage, which felt really rude. There’s a garbage collection area at the hotel, but it wasn’t cleaned for three days in a row. There were at least three mice, and lots of mouse droppings!

The room was kind of small for three people, but it was very clean and tidy, and the bathroom was neat and elegant. The location is great, close to Takadanobaba station, with nice nearby cafés like Delifrance and things to do like arcade centers.
