UNPLAN Kagurazaka - Hostel

The dorm area is very small, and someone who gets claustrophobic might find it difficult. My things were a tight fit, though I was backpacking and it didn't bother me much. I requested a lower bunk since I move around a lot and wanted less noise, and it was extremely quiet and clean. The shower area was inside the dorm, while the toilet was outside. That could be inconvenient for people sleeping farther from it, but I was right by the door, so it was fine for me. This was my first solo trip to Tokyo, and I wanted somewhere convenient for getting around. I'm glad I picked this place after seeing it recommended on a website. It's in a quiet neighborhood with a few temples, a family mart, 7 eleven, and a supermarket. Travel to shibuya or shinjuku takes less than 10mins. For the price, the cleanliness and transport convenience are top notch. I loved my stay and would highly recommend it.

The common areas are limited, but the social atmosphere was nice. The location is relaxed, and the hostel is decent, though it felt overhyped. The dorm beds aren't as soundproof as at similar places, with curtains at both the front and back. Check-in is automated at the front, and it can be confusing to tell whether breakfast or an upgraded breakfast is included in the cost. The room stayed uncomfortably warm overnight, and there's not much they can do about it. For a similar or lower price, there are better options with more amenities.

The clean bathrooms, washer and dryer, and lovely breakfast were great. The hostel is in a great location and felt like a nice change from the city's bustle. The dorm rooms were clean and comfortable, but the temperature varied a lot. Most nights were quite hot, then the last night was freezing. The duvets are a little small. I'd recommend it for a pleasant hostel stay.

I’m glad I booked this branch instead of the Shinjuku one I’d planned on. The neighborhood is relaxed, which is just what I wanted after walking Tokyo’s streets, and the train is about a four-minute walk away. It’s a prime spot. This was my second stay on the trip, and the staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast is included, there’s a coffee place with great food, and the beds are great with room for my other things. My room was always clean and smelled nice.
