The view was amazing, the place was clean, and the laundry service was handy. The front desk staff were polite too. I stayed in a traditional room and would have given it five stars, but not having a microwave in the room, or easy access to one, really brought it down.

The holiday buffet is huge and definitely worth trying. We also often take my mother-in-law there for tea and cake. I used to work there too, performing pseudo-Christian weddings in the chapel as a part-time job. It was a great gig.

There was plenty of free parking, and the rate covered breakfast and use of the hotel's onsen. The rooms were clean and larger than the standard size for Japanese hotels.

My friends experienced racism at the hotel reception, so foreigners should be careful. The receptionist called the police for no reason.

It felt very dated and had very few amenities. Maybe it was a language barrier, but the staff didn't seem very friendly.
