Super Hotel Yamagata Tsuruoka

The room worked well for me, with a big desk and bench seat, lots of power outlets, and plenty of pillow choices. The fridge was rather small, though the huge TV made up for it a bit. The S-Mall bus terminal is very close and turned out to be more useful for local sightseeing. The train station wasn't as handy as Google Maps made it look. My one real gripe was the narrow shower in the room. I struggled to get a proper lather with the supplied soap and shampoo. I mostly used the public bath on the first floor, so it wasn't a major issue.

I really enjoyed the hot spring, and the staff were enthusiastic and very helpful. The service was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to find a little bar where the drinks were free.

For the price, this is a pretty nice hotel. The public bath is small but really nice, and the bed was a reasonable size and clean. They include breakfast and free drinks, with some liquor available at night. There’s a convenience store right across the street. Tsuruoka Station is about a ten-minute walk away, a bit of a distance but not too far.

A fairly new hotel in Tsuruoka, with compact, clean rooms. The breakfast buffet has plenty of options, and the large public bath is nice. It’s reasonably close to Tsuruoka station, and there’s a 7-11 next door.
