Takamiya Bettei KUON

We had a really good stay, and the food was great too. There was an outdoor onsen in our room, which we enjoyed.

The meals were delicious, and all the staff were consistently excellent. We felt so comfortable that the two of us extended our stay to four nights. My companion has trouble walking, so being able to use the family bath was a real help. It had plenty of room in both the changing area and the bath, which made it easy for me to assist them. We couldn't see the Sea of Japan from anywhere in the building, even though it's nearby, since the inn is up in the mountains. Also, the bed in the Japanese-style room was too low for my companion to get up from without help. (We're a couple in our 80s.)

The hot spring was a comfortable temperature and gave us a chance to unwind. They also let us into our room early even though we arrived ahead of time, which we appreciated. The service and bath were excellent. I did wish the food had a little more variety: the sashimi, pork shabu-shabu, and fried sea bream head were fine, but a few more side dishes would have been nice. Everything was tasty, though.

The room was very clean, with a firm but comfortable mattress, and the Japanese-style room had a bed. The lobby's understated incense and Japanese design made it feel calm and welcoming. This was a first trip with my mother, and we had a pleasant stay. Dinner and breakfast were both in the large dining hall, with a good number of dishes. We especially liked the grilled sea bream head. At night, getting a drink meant going all the way down to the first floor, which was inconvenient when we got thirsty. We'd stay here again if we have the chance. Thanks to all the staff for their hospitality.
