Minshuku Nishidomari

Really good!

The place is peaceful, and the morning scenery is beautiful. It's a little far from the port, though you can walk if it isn't too late, and I'd especially recommend staying here if you've rented a car. The owner is very friendly and breakfast is provided. During breakfast he even let me know Running Man was on. The showers are shared, but the water is warm and it wasn't crowded, so I could shower comfortably.

I came in winter, and this place is a good choice if you can rent a bike. If you're planning to walk, I wouldn't recommend it because it's farther from things than it seems. The owner was very friendly, and having breakfast at Hitakatsu was a big help since places to eat out are scarce. It's dark around the accommodation, so the stars are easy to see. The house seems to be an old-style Japanese one that's been well preserved.

I spent four days here and it felt as if I had the whole accommodation to myself. I chose somewhere quiet on purpose, and came away with lots of good memories. Every place has its ups and downs, so I think it's up to each traveler to decide. I'd read many reviews before choosing this one, but there were still things I hadn't expected. I'll leave out anything that might sway someone else's decision. What I most want to remember and praise is the breakfast, especially the rice. At my age, I can say it's the best rice I've ever had.
