We came away feeling like we’d truly had a chance to pause. After the pace of Japan’s big cities, the quiet at Ume Yamazoe felt restorative, and we were able to properly disconnect. We stayed one night with the two-meal plan, and the whole experience went beyond what we expected. Yuki made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived, noticing all the little details with real warmth. Everyone on staff was kind and attentive. Sunny in Japan had recommended the place on her YouTube channel, and we’re grateful she did. The room was lovely and suited the peaceful setting, and the facilities were excellent. Dinner and breakfast were traditional Japanese meals, beautifully presented and thoughtfully made. Each dish was delicious, and the care in its preparation came through. We won’t forget the hospitality or the chance to recharge here.

Yuki was a wonderful part of our visit. She was already in touch before we arrived to make sure we knew how to get there and that everything would be ready. She was a pleasure to meet and talk with, and the staff were attentive throughout. Dinner was a very good multi-course meal made with ingredients grown, prepared, or supplied by local townspeople, and the staff explained everything. The renovated house sits beautifully on the hill, and we were lucky enough to see the ume tree it’s named after in bloom. Even the taxi ride up the mountain was lovely. The sauna is small but powerful, with a cold plunge to cool off. We had a gorgeous stay. I only wish we’d booked more time. Thank you for making it so special.

The mountain view was beautiful, and this little boutique hotel became a highlight of our vacation. Dinner and breakfast were so good that we’d happily eat the same food in a restaurant. The robes, towels, and bedding were incredibly soft too. We were very happy with our stay and hope to come back soon.

One of the people who looked after us could tell us where every ingredient in every meal came from. Another surprised us after breakfast with the most beautiful music. Their warm welcome made a big impression on us. The accommodation was comfortable and calm, with lovely views and a restorative feel. A memorable experience for our family.
