The station is only a two-minute walk away, but beyond a mediocre Donki there isn't much around, and getting to the interesting areas takes about 20 minutes each day. The rooms are spacious and the staff are friendly, but for this price that wasn't enough to make the stay worthwhile. If the listing hadn't misled me, I'd have picked a proper business hotel, even with smaller rooms and fewer amenities. I later realized this was a love hotel presented as a regular business hotel. The room equipment and adult content on the TV home screen make that pretty clear, and they even offer stays of up to three hours to “rest.” You can decide whether that feels suitable for families or children. The fridge was unusable: the minibar was empty, apparently because a computer tracks items and charges them to your bill. There was another, smaller fridge, but that didn't work either. At least there was ice in the lobby for cold water. The hotel also doesn't seem set up for stays longer than a day or for tourists from overseas. Even simple requests were hard to make through a translator. The staff were nice, but seemed trained only for check-in and check-out. Cleaning was cursory. They changed the sheets and replaced the amenities, but I found things left by previous guests. That fits the love hotel pattern of changing sheets and restocking for the next users. If you're bringing luggage, don't count on the hotel to forward it. They called the courier and told me to wait in my room between 8am and 1pm. After losing a day to that wait, the courier might not take your bags. In my case, perhaps because of the language barrier, I had to choose between a ¥20.000 taxi or taking the metro the next day with two suitcases. The courier couldn't accept them the day before checkout. I've sent luggage from Hokkaido to Kansai, Kanto to Shikoku, and between Chubu and Kanto through other hotels and airports, a day or two ahead, without any trouble. This was the first refusal I'd encountered, with that excuse. Love hotels aren't used to forwarding luggage, so be aware if you arrive with suitcases. My last days in Yokohama ended up being spent sweating and hauling two suitcases, which I hadn't planned on. If I'd known what kind of place this was, I'd have chosen somewhere else.
