Toyoko Inn Yokohama Stadium Mae No.1

The staff were welcoming, and everything was clean and tidy.

Really great!

Our room was small, with the bed taking up about 70% of the space, but there was enough room to sleep. The hotel is right across the street from Yokohama Stadium, and noise from games wasn't an issue at night since they were over. Coffee is free until midnight, and breakfast is free too, with packaged rice balls available from 6:30 AM. It's under a 10-minute walk from the station and very convenient for Yokohama Chinatown. There are two sections, Stadium 1 and Stadium 2, joined by a passage at the back. Stadium 1 is the side facing the stadium.

I've stayed at Toyoko Inn Yokohama Stadium Mae Daiichi for about a week around New Year's for the past 10 years, so I'm shocked by how much the breakfast has gone downhill. Other locations, especially Oita Ekimae Toyoko Inn, are great, but this one has been terrible. The food barely feels like food. Even when there isn't anything available and guests are waiting quietly in line, the staff are rude. I used to be happy with the location and the staff, so this is really disappointing. I know running a hotel must be hard with things like COVID-19 and rising prices, but a business serving guests needs to meet those challenges with ingenuity and effort from the company. I'm a Toyoko Inn fan and hope things improve. At the end of breakfast today, I was also disgusted by the attitude of the person who seemed to be the manager. He came around with messy hair and a coat on, and gave directions to kitchen staff instead of greeting customers. What was that?
