Hotel Slowvillage Yonezawa

The room was basic but clean, and the lobby coffee was good. Having free parking spaces just downstairs was convenient too. When we arrived, the self check-in setup reminded me right away of Villa Voix in Niigata, where we stayed on our last trip. It was a stylish duplex, and we had a good time there. Check-in here was smooth and easy as well.

We booked online, then scanned a QR Code when we got there to receive the room number and door code. There are no staff at the hotel. Our room was spacious, with bunk beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and a Jacuzzi tub. There’s also a living and dining room outside. Coffee is free, parking is free and convenient, and there’s an automatic wine press machine. The room price wasn’t expensive.

I came for the Uesugi Lantern Festival and found Hotel Slow Village a great base for taking in the city. The hotel is in the city center, and there’s a cafe on the ground floor for a quick bite. I work from my laptop a lot, so the social working space suited me perfectly. It’s comfortable and well designed, with a free Nescafe machine. The amenities were great, and my room was clean and well appointed. The bed was huge and cozy, and the bathroom was spotless and stocked with the things you might need for a stopover. I’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting Yonezawa.
