Yukemuri No Yado Inazumi Onsen Kyoritsu Resorts

We had such a relaxing stay and only wish we could have stayed longer. Our Japanese twin room was stunning, with a cedar wood bath tub, and both the facilities and the staff were fantastic. There are two private Onsen to choose from, with no booking needed, and dinner and breakfast were wonderful. Thank you so much!

The facilities are good, which makes the poor service such a shame. There were so many unpleasant moments that I can’t list them all. I first wondered if I was being treated this way because I’m a foreigner, but other guests were treated inappropriately too. The service level just seemed low, and anyone arriving with high expectations is likely to be disappointed. I can’t really recommend the place, and hope they improve. The food arrived much too quickly, and there was a hair in my meal. When I pointed it out, I didn’t get a real apology. The dish warmer hadn’t been switched on; when I mentioned it, the response was just, “Oh… okay.” I said Japanese was fine, but the staff still seemed unwilling to explain the food. A guest arrived at the last minute and the staff looked extremely annoyed while serving them ramen, which made eating nearby uncomfortable. Staff were rarely around. At night, I called the front desk again and again to ask for an extra blanket, but nobody answered. They also made no effort to carry our luggage to the room. The private bath smelled strongly, like someone with very smelly feet had been in there.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Their English is limited, but they do their best to communicate. The spacious room has indoor and outdoor onsen, and both dinner and breakfast are traditional Japanese kaiseki meals. It’s convenient for foreign travelers to book through the Dormy Inn website, which offers member rates and points. Room packages with transportation from Sendai Station are also available. This mountain location is far from the city, with no attractions nearby, so I think it works best for a one-night stay.

We went in September for one night to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, and wished we could stay longer. The room was one of the special rooms with a private bath. From the peaceful, beautiful accommodation to the delicious food and drinks, everything was lovely. The onsen and private bath were perfect, and the staff and service were amazing from start to finish. We’ll definitely return for a longer stay on a future trip.
