The room was only okay, and it took more than 10 minutes for the hot water to come through. That added to an already disappointing stay. Getting checked in late in the evening was a mess and took nearly half an hour. Three staff members got involved. The first couldn’t find our reservation, the second went to check the room and left, and then a third arrived and asked us to repeat the same information several times. One staff member tried to photograph our passports without asking. When we asked why, we got no explanation. Everything seemed clear in the system, so we don’t understand why the process was handled so inefficiently. We don’t think the staff meant to inconvenience us, but we stayed patient and clearly explained that it was late and we needed to get to a restaurant soon. The delay meant we missed all the restaurant opening hours.

I booked more than a month ahead and checked that everything was in order. They confirmed it was, then two days before my trip they texted to say there was no vacancy and that I had to cancel or be charged. That’s unacceptable. Avoid booking through them.

The receptionists were really helpful, and it was good value for money. The night market is nearby, though most major sights are a bit far to walk to. The toilet did have a strange smell now and then, but otherwise it was good.

A great base for staying in Luang Prabang. The rooms are great, the service is good, and the staff are amazing. It’s easy to get around the city from here.
