The room was the biggest letdown. It felt below the standard I expected from a 3-star place, with a hard bed, unsupportive pillows, dusty cobwebs by the lamps and nightstands, and worn walls and window frames. The bathroom had what looked like bug droppings mixed with dust, and the sink area didn't seem clean. The toilet sometimes struggled to flush, and the Wi-Fi kept cutting out, so I had to use mobile data. Given all that, I was surprised by the glowing 4- and 5-star ratings on Google and Booking.com. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. Luang Prabang has cleaner, more comfortable places for similar prices. I'd compare photos and reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, and Booking.com before booking.

We loved it enough to extend our stay. It's in a good spot, quiet, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We'll definitely come back.

Robert and his family made us feel right at home, and we'd absolutely recommend Villa Ouis to anyone going to Luang Prabang. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, and it was lovely having a water fountain for guests.

The owner's very enthusiastic and helpful, and for a budget stay in the old town this could be one of the better options. The location is great, too. Showers get hotter if you turn the pressure down. Breakfast is okay, though nearby busy local places serve much better food. Our lower room was noisy because the wooden floors are thin and guest tables are close by. We were kept awake late and woken early every night. Maybe you'll get a quiet, respectful person upstairs, but we didn't.
