Skyline Hotel Laos

The room was tidy and well maintained, and the price was reasonable. It’s conveniently close to That Luang, a famous landmark in Vientiane. Service was good, the staff were friendly, the Wi-Fi was strong, and there was plenty of parking.

We had a lovely view of That Luang from our rooms on the 4th or 5th floor at night, glowing against the darkness. The rooms were very clean, though quite small, so a lot of luggage could make things cramped. One queen-sized bed fit me and two others. The elevators are quite small too, though that’s common in Laos. Service was good and the Wi-Fi strong. My family and I stayed for one night before heading north to Luang Prabang. The price wasn’t expensive, around 150,000Kip for the night, and there’s a small restaurant right at the front of the parking space. When we came back another week, the price for the same type of room was a little different, so check that.

The staff are friendly and attentive, but there’s almost no English spoken, and I don’t speak Lao at all, so communication was difficult. Rooms were clean but sparse, there were lots of mossies, and the hotel had no amenities. There’s a small, decent restaurant open at night. Apart from That Luang, it’s far from everything, and getting a Tuk Tuk or other transport into the city is difficult. For this location and kind of hotel, I don’t think the price is justified.

You can see Pha That Luong from some rooms. The room I had was quite small, and I think this is only a 3 stars hotel. It’s acceptable for a short stay in Vientiane. Please note there is no air conditioning in the room, and you should ask the desk helper if you want to increase the temperature.
