The owner was lovely and helpful, and designed the hotel herself. I liked the mix of Lao style and a touch of vintage. The calm atmosphere and cosy room made for a very pleasant stay at SP Hotel Vientiane, right in the convenient city center. The Asian breakfast was simple but good, and bus or taxi rides can be arranged at reception.

The entrance smelled very bad because the rubbish hadn't been cleared. We had paid a night in advance to reserve a big bed on the first floor and check in from 10am the next day. But on arrival, they said the first-floor guest had extended their stay. The second floor hadn't been cleaned yet, and they weren't sure whether its guest would check out, so they offered us a room on the third floor instead. There was no lift, just stairs. The third-floor room was small and dusty, with a fan that barely worked, a broken TV, a leaking shower head, a clogged sink, and a wardrobe in bad shape. 😤

The owner was the part we appreciated most: always kind, smiling, and ready to help. The Asian-style breakfast was rich, with plenty to choose from, served inside or outside. There were several kinds of coffee and tea, plus cornflakes. The rooms and beds were comfortable, and there was hot water. We'd had to find another place after Panda Hotel Vientiane kicked us out despite our confirmed booking on booking.com. This hotel was closer to Vientiane's food market and night market. Some reviews had made us hesitate, but it turned out to be one of the best stays of our trip in Laos. We really appreciated the welcome and highly recommend it. Come here and you won't be disappointed.

The staff are lovely, and the location is perfect, really close to the night food market. Rooms are nice and comfortable, with air conditioning.
