Vogel Nest is in a quiet side street, but you can walk to the beach, cafes, and several restaurants. I had a great stay, and my friend’s recommendation was spot on. Shea and her family were incredibly kind. When I got sick, they checked on me and even offered to make a Sri Lankan dish people commonly eat to get their energy back. The rooms were the cleanest I’ve found in Sri Lanka so far, and each of the four I stayed in after booking last minute was comfortable and nicely furnished, with a clothing rack and work desk. There’s also a small guest kitchen with a fridge and basic cookware, handy for coffee or a pre-surf snack.

After more than a month at Vogel Nest in Midigama, it had come to feel like home. Doni and her family made us feel like family from the very first day, while still giving us our own space and privacy. Their care and warmth made a big difference throughout our stay. The upper room we had was new, clean, comfortable for a longer visit, and well maintained with everything we needed. The bathroom was spotless, and it was honestly the best shower we had in Sri Lanka. There’s a calm shared area among the trees, a kitchen for simple meals or breakfast, and laundry service, which was so convenient. The quiet location is just off the main street and an easy walk from coffee shops, stores, and everything else we needed. A special place with wonderful people. We’d love to come back 🌸

The host was so welcoming and attentive. Vogel Nest is handy for both the main road and the ocean, and the rooms are new, clean, quiet, and really comfortable. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Midigama again.

We spent three lovely nights here over the Sri Lanka New Year festivities. The family welcomed us warmly and even treated us to a traditional breakfast on New Year’s Day. They can arrange scooter hire and washing as well. A wonderful spot with great hospitality 🙂

We ended up extending our stay again and again, and spent a month here. It’s such a calm, relaxing place, and the owner is really kindhearted. He’d bring us tea whenever we got chatting with someone, and when I was ill, he gave me lime juice that really helped.
