Trillium Boutique Express Hotel

Everything was well organized, and we really enjoyed our time here. The staff were welcoming and professional, and the hotel surpassed what we expected for cleanliness, comfort, and service. A highly recommended stay.

We felt unsafe and couldn't sleep comfortably. The windows wouldn't close properly, and one could be opened from the next room into ours. The bathroom was unacceptable, with its door not properly screwed to the wall. There was no privacy either, since we could hear everything in the adjoining room. On top of that, our room was dusty and poorly maintained, and felt far too cheap for what we paid. We expected better for these prices at a Colombo city hotel. When we entered, we heard foreign guests complaining at reception.

The manager listened to my feedback and shared his understanding, which I appreciated. I was moved from the boutique city hotel to the boutique express hotel because of the rainstorms. My breakfast arrived late and cold, the room hadn't been mopped, and there were a few hot water problems. I think the hotel could flourish, and maybe I was just unlucky with the timing.

I booked two nights here, but on arrival they moved me to another property, saying there was an emergency overbooking problem. It was called trillium express, and it was the worst hotel experience I've had. The place was poorly furnished and insanely noisy from the road nearby. This seems to happen to lots of foreigners who book, get told the same lie, and are sent to this hellhole. I complained to agoda and booking.com, but they didn't even adjust the charge for such a subpar stay. DO NOT BOOK W THEM.
