Colombo Mount Hostel

There’s a nice sense of community here, with lots of great travelers around. The food is really tasty, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are kind, welcoming, and ready to help, which makes the whole place feel easygoing. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

We arrived at 4am, but after we called, the staff got us into bed quickly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was free in the morning. The bathrooms weren’t the best, though they were fine for a night or two. The owner arranged for someone to find out the train times, then called a tuk tuk to Mount Lavinia station, about a five-minute drive away. Highly recommend.

The private room was excellent value, with a double bed, AC, a decent hot shower, and a comfortable bed. Just bring your own towel, as none were provided. It’s a bit far out of Colombo, over an hour by bus from Central station, and I found it quieter than I’d prefer. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was tasty, string hoppers with sauce. You can also buy beer and water. A pleasant stay, and I’d take the train to the nearest station instead of the bus from the centre.

This is a new hostel, and I stayed one night. The owner, Arjuna, is very nice, and the staff were welcoming. My room was really good and clean. They have free breakfast in the morning and dinner at night too. I recommend it 💗👊
