The garden was like something out of a dream, full of carefully tended fruit, vegetables, and spices. The family made us feel like their own from the first moment, and their warmth turned our three nights into the most special part of our whole trip. We’ve rarely met people so kind, loving, and genuinely helpful. Each morning they made an incredible fresh breakfast, and we had dinner there several times too. The authentic Sri Lankan food was delicious and clearly made with care. We even cooked together one evening so we could learn some recipes. The father drove us around in his tuk-tuk and was always fair and honest about prices. Our four-year-old daughter was showered with attention and affection, and the whole family clearly adored her. They were there whenever we needed anything. This place felt like a little paradise. We didn’t just stay somewhere, we gained a family, and we’re deeply grateful. We hope others get to experience these people and this wonderful place, and hope to see you again one day! All the best, Thomas, Inger and Holly.

Suresh and his family were so kind and generous, always going out of their way to help. They gave us dinner and breakfast, and the Sri Lankan food was the best we had in the country. One evening we cooked together so we could learn some of their recipes. Suresh also drives a tuk-tuk and can take guests to Ella and other sites, with honest prices. The room was clean and comfortable, and the natural setting was so relaxing. We wish we’d stayed longer. This was one of our best stays ever, and I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ella.

The hike prep was thoughtful too, they even gave us anti-leech spray. We ate really well, and our hosts were so kind, always offering helpful tips with a smile. Thanks for welcoming us into your home and sharing a little of your life with us. It felt like true Sri Lankan hospitality.

Being surrounded by nature was lovely, and Ella is very close by. The hosts and their family made us feel so welcome and were always friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the delicious, authentic food. We had a wonderful stay and can't recommend it enough.
