Rock Edge Residence

Our stay was really disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for couples. The room listing said it had a private bathroom, but ours didn’t, so we had to switch rooms and pay extra for one with a bathroom. The advertised private balcony was shared and open to everyone too. We chose the guest house because we wanted to cook, but the kitchen was communal and later we were told to stop using it because other guests might complain. There wasn’t even a sink in the kitchen, so we had to go outside to wash things. The room wasn’t properly cleaned, with old belongings still in the cupboards. In the mornings the hot shower didn’t work right, and the AC was poor and leaked water when switched on. The bed was uncomfortable as well. We booked expecting an AC room and cooking facilities, but most of the details in the listing turned out to be inaccurate. It felt as though the owner cared more about getting paid than our comfort. Check the facilities and room details carefully before booking. Our experience was very disappointing.

We drove there and found enough parking on the lower level for any car, though the road getting up may be tricky. The place is new, everything looks fresh and nicely decorated, and the balcony has an amazing view where you can sit with tea or coffee and relax. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and have what you need. The hosts are very friendly and willing to help.

Rock Edge Residence is a lovely choice if you want a peaceful, nature-filled break in Kandy. I’d recommend it to anyone who values quiet, cleanliness, and a beautiful natural setting.

The manager was super friendly, and the rooms were clean. Mornings are cool here, with a river nearby and stunning views at night by the rock. A great stay for a reasonable price given the location and room. 🌟
