The air conditioner dripped right over the bed, and the staff said there were no other rooms, suggesting we go to another hotel. The bathroom was in awful shape, with hair everywhere, a broken door lock, and a loose, shaking toilet. Our room hadn't been cleaned properly, and the pool was dirty too. We waited almost four hours for our à la carte food. The online photos gave a completely different impression from the actual place. A very disappointing stay, and not worth it.

The setting was lovely, surrounded by lush green, and the staff were friendly. We did have an issue with flies in the room, though. The pool was nice, and the place was otherwise fine for our stay. Hope they can sort out that issue. Thanks for the service.

I had a good stay recently, which seems to be unusual. There are a few rooms in good condition, but it's easy for things to go wrong, so plan ahead: call with your arrival time and travel plans, book at least 12-24 hours in advance, and sort out payment options early. I hope these tips help.

We couldn't stay because our rooms weren't ready when we arrived. We were told we should have called ahead so the hotel could prepare them, which wasn't acceptable. The staff ignored guests and gave us no proper directions. Asking for a refund led to unnecessary conversations and delays, and we eventually had to leave. They wasted our time and showed no care or professionalism. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The management can't be relied on. We paid an advance after being promised all the facilities, but the pool wasn't usable for days and the other facilities weren't up to standard either. They said they'd return the advance, but never did. One of the worst hotels in Katharagama.
