Clio Bolgoda

Our engagement at Clio Bolgoda went really well. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout, and Asitha, our main coordinator, kept everything running smoothly and gave us great support. We’d happily recommend the place for engagements or weddings ❤️

We waited over two hours for our food, after ordering. We’d booked a table for two families, but the staff didn’t seem to know about the reservation, so we found the table ourselves and had to arrange the chairs and tables. Other guests who arrived after us were served first. The service was terrible.

The buffet was meant to start at 8.30, but when we asked, we were told the food still wasn’t ready. Guests weren’t even given water in their glasses, so one of them had to bring a jug and pour it for everyone. Only one or two staff members seemed to be working hard, and we had to go looking for them. I felt bad for the staff who were working there. The manager was very irresponsible. He spent a lot of time on his phone, and when we approached him with questions, he’d say he was on a call and walk away. He also smoked more than three cigarettes in front of the wedding guests. A very bad experience, with terrible service.

On 18 Jan, we had a family dinner for my son's 9th birthday, with the menu ordered in advance. It took three calls and a 20 minutes wait from the first dish for all the food to arrive, and it was terrible. The special chopsuey rice was mostly plain rice, with a bed of vegetables and only a few shrimp and chicken pieces. The 1 Kg of fried Jumbo sausages I ordered came on two tiny plates. The fruit platter was half a mango, a quarter of a papaya, and some unripe watermelon. The service was even worse than the food. I wouldn’t use this place for a function unless you’re prepared for sloppy service and food.
