The room was spacious and very clean. It’s a little outside the centre, though the lake is close and tuktuk rides make getting around easy. We spent one night here before taking the train from ambewella to Ella, and really enjoyed our stop in nuwara eliya. The owner was friendly and chatty, welcomed us with tea, then made a huge, delicious Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning and arranged transport whenever we needed it.

We had a very good stay, and the hospitality was a 10+. The host even set his alarm several times overnight to get train tickets for us. Breakfast was excellent, and the location manages to be close to everything while staying quiet. Absolutely recommend it!

Getting there takes a little effort since it’s a bit inside, but a TukTuk works, and we also reached it in our van. The driver just needs to be comfortable with those roads. We stayed for 2 days at Terrabella in Nuwara Eliya, and the house interior had the feel of a European home. Our cozy room looked toward the lake. The calm owner was helpful and supportive, made breakfast himself, and was always on time. It was filling and good, with fresh fruit, a drink, bread, butter, and tea or coffee. He also helped us find better rates for Yala Safari and, as a local, knew the area and good view points.

Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were warm and took care of everything we needed. The city centre is a bit far, but our room had amazing views of Gregory lake and the nearby green meadows. We absolutely loved staying here!

Go, go, goooo! Clean rooms, great meals, excellent service and really good food. He’s one of the best hosts in sri lanka, and you can tell he loves his country and will do his best to help you feel part of it. Definitely recommend him.
