Freedom Home Stay

The breakfast was so good, honestly better than many restaurants we tried. Our stay at Freedom Homestay in Sigiriya felt warm and authentic, and we left with lovely memories. The host offers a cooking class, which we couldn't join, but just seeing the traditional Sri Lankan kitchen was memorable. The room was clean and comfortable, and the small garden gave the place a peaceful, relaxing feel. We thought it was excellent value for money. Highly recommend!

The host found us an emergency place to stay after a problem with our earlier booking, and was wonderful about it. It was great value and included a tasty traditional breakfast. The setting is beautiful, and Hot Food Restaurant nearby was very good too.

I had a lovely time here, and the hosts and their family were warm and attentive. They kept checking that I was safe and had what I needed, and the place really felt like home. A weak point was the Mobitel signal, which was quite poor inside the room. The backyard and patio are beautiful, and every morning they served a delicious local breakfast with care. The room felt more like a mini-hotel: it was spacious, with a hot water boiler, mug, tea and coffee, plus a large table and chair that worked well for remote work. The bathroom was huge, with a clothes hanger and plenty of outlets for my gadgets. Hot Food Restaurant next door serves really good meals.

Freedom Homestay was quiet and close to Lion Rock, just right for unwinding after a day in Sigiriya. Our room was clean, cozy, and peaceful, and the fresh breakfast was among the best of our trip. The hosts were so kind and helpful that we felt at home right away. They helped us with everything and even stored the groceries we'd bought in her fridge. A really thoughtful gesture.
