The food was good, but this wasn’t a great place to stay. There are better options further ahead, and even at a lower price.

The pillows weren’t very clean, and the mattress smelled like feet. We were given just two small sheets for a double bed, and they didn’t even cover it. There were cobwebs on the wall lamps. In the bathroom, limescale covered the filthy surfaces, the floor was dirty, a dried honeycomb was stuck inside the window, and there was something that looked like animal droppings on the frame. This was the dirtiest accommodation we stayed in during our time in Sri Lanka. We expected the worst when we arrived, and it lived up to that.

After two hours, we decided not to spend even one night there and moved to a more comfortable hotel. The room smelled awful, was dirty, and didn’t have towels or even toilet paper. I’m not fussy, but the bathroom made me feel sick. The host spoke very little English, and the first thing he did was charge us. We’ve been in Sri Lanka for two weeks, staying somewhere different each night, and this was the worst room of all. I recommend avoiding this terrible place.
