Wellton Riverside Spa Hotel

The breakfasts were delicious, with so many choices: sweet and savory food, pastries, freshly made flat pancakes, quark pancakes, waffles, and more. The hotel also has a SPA and gym, and offers a lot of options at a good price. I really like its location and the view. For the best logistics, the nearby 22nd bus stop gets you to the airport easily. I’d definitely book a room with a lake view. You get all the sunrises and sunsets, and won’t regret it. We went to Riga for my father’s 60th birthday and picked this hotel for its SPA and location, but came away very disappointed. Check-in took a very long time, although the receptionist was polite. She asked why we were visiting, then promised a bottle of champagne in my parents’ room as a surprise. It never arrived. That’s unprofessional, and if it can’t be arranged, don’t promise it. The SPA booking process was a mess too. We arrived at 5 p.m., but the first available slot was 11 a.m. the next day, when checkout was at 12. Maybe one of the many hotel emails mentioned booking in advance, but who reads all of them? Important information should be clear and in one message. The SPA itself was tiny, with old plastic loungers, and absolutely not worth 20 euros. The breakfast was not bad, but I can’t recommend the hotel. Check other places first, there are much better options.

My first stay here was nice overall, mainly thanks to Ieva from the restaurant. She was a lovely, sunny person, and the hotel is lucky to have someone like her. Friendly staff matter as much as nice decor and a good lobby. The restaurant food was lovely too, especially the Creme Brulle dessert. I’d come back for that and Ieva’s service. The bed wasn’t great, though. Why use two separate mattresses for a bed meant for two? There was also too much furniture in the room. Luxury isn’t about filling a room with chairs. Breakfast was disappointing: garden salad mixed with tuna, and the sliced sausage for sandwiches was expired. Someone could have ended up with a stomach ache from eating it.

The rooms were huge, with a really comfortable, large bed, and I slept very well. Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel is modern, beautifully designed, and very clean throughout. The staff were warm and always ready to help. Andrejs was especially friendly and gave us lots of good tips for exploring all of Riga’s old town. We also loved the terrace, a lovely place to relax and take in the city view. The hotel exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely come back. I’d absolutely recommend it for comfort, coziness, and great service!
