Kenzi Basma Hotel

Everything was easy to reach, which made my stay at Kenzie Basma even better. Hamza at the front desk deserves a special thank you. He was professional, welcoming, and went out of his way to give useful advice and make sure I was comfortable. I wouldn’t be surprised if he became the hotel director one day, or went even further. Thanks for a memorable visit!

A roach in our room on the third day capped off a stay where cleanliness was a constant problem. I was traveling with a group of about 50, and nearly everyone had trouble with dirty rooms. Mine had stains on the loveseat, yellow towels, and dirt and hair across the floor. Even the room phone was dusty and sticky, so I couldn’t bring myself to call the front desk. We arrived very late, so I waited until the next day to see if things improved. I found a cleaning lady, tipped her generously, and politely asked her to clean the room well. When I came back, it was still dirty and the sheets hadn’t been changed. The photos I took were after she had “touched up” the room, which makes the state of it even harder to accept. The breakfast was okay when clean plates and utensils were available, but several times I picked up items that were dirty. The storage area for plates was dusty too. This hotel simply wasn’t clean. The front desk staff and bellboys did help by printing documents I needed and carrying our bags. But the hygiene problems were severe enough that I’d never recommend staying here. Avoid it, and if your travel agency books it for you, ask them to find another option right away. I’d been excited before the trip after seeing the hotel photos and positive online reviews while planning for Casablanca this November. The real experience was the complete opposite.

The restaurant was good, and the staff were attentive and helpful. There was an error with our room at first, but they promptly moved us to a bigger one, though it wasn’t as clean as it should have been. We changed rooms again the next day, and that one was fine.

The service really made the visit. Abid took care of room service perfectly and was always kind. Adil helped arrange breakfast, Fatiha kept everything fresh, and Chaimaa, Yassin, and Hicham were welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and felt safe. Wi-Fi stayed fast and reliable, and the price was under $100. The hotel is in a great central spot, a short walk from the tram and Casa Voyageurs. For the price, it beat my expectations, and I’d gladly stay again.
