Dar Blanca

In a quiet residential area, the hotel is about a half hour’s walk from the blue city. There’s plenty of parking in the garden, and breakfast is included. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The only real help was from the Dar receptionist, who carried our luggage up to the third floor. The location was disappointing, a 20 to 30 minute walk from the medina. The room size was okay, but the bathroom was tiny. You had to hold the shower head yourself, and there was nowhere to put soap, shampoo, or conditioner.

My trip to Morocco fell through because of visa issues beyond my control. I contacted the owner of Dar Blanca more than a week before my booking, within the stated cancellation period, and asked for a refund. It was peak season, so there seemed to be plenty of time to rebook the room. They refused even a partial refund, without showing any flexibility. I can’t speak to the property itself since I never stayed, but I’d be cautious if plans might change. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t expect much understanding from management in an unexpected situation. The way my request was handled felt short on both professionalism and compassion.

The breakfast was delicious 😋, and the service was excellent. The place is small but comfortable and convenient, with rooms large enough for a small family. Everything was clean and tidy, and the room had AC. There’s no safe. An iron and board are available on request, and there’s a boiler at the main reception.
