Berber Duchess Riad

We stayed in the Habibi suite, which had plenty of room for three adults and one young adult. The beds were comfortable and the linens crisp and white. The living area with floor cushions was clean and tidy, though maybe not quite at North American hotel level. The owner was very helpful with arranging activities, including a private Medina walking guide, a Hammam reservation, and an onsite cooking class. They accommodated my daughter’s celiac disease well. They also arranged airport pickup and a porter to take us straight to the door, which we might not have found on our own.

We had a plentiful breakfast on the roof terrace each morning, with views across the Medina. You could enjoy the heat up there, or find a nice spot inside the riad to sit, read, or relax. The rooms were generously sized, dreamily decorated, and had very comfortable beds. Staff were attentive and helpful, and made sure we got safely home each night after being out. They and Nicky, the owner, gave us great suggestions for exploring both inside and outside the Medina. A fabulous place to stay, and a must when visiting Marrakech.

Nicky put together our whole bespoke Morocco tour, from Marrakech to Imlil, The Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen and Tanger. Everything was easy, flexible, and great value. The Riad itself is gorgeous, the staff are wonderful, attentive, helpful, and friendly, and the food and location were amazing. I loved the little personal touches, like pavlova for dessert and knowing how much kiwis love lamb. Absolutely loved staying at the Berber Duchess and highly recommend it for a trip around wonderful Morocco.

Breakfast on the rooftop was such a lovely start to each day, and the rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable to unwind in. Everyone at Berber Duchess Riad was so welcoming, always ready to help with taxis or places to eat. Nicky and her team made our stay in the Medina feel special. We had an amazing time and would recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakesh! 🤍
